Lou and Sofia set up SPILL in July 2024. They’ve been in tea for a long time. They started another tea company (teapigs) in 2006 and Lou had been a tea taster for Tetley before that. They realised that, whilst we drink all different teas now (herbal, green, fruit), we’ve been neglecting the tea we drink every day (our “builders”, “english breakfast” etc). And the smallholder farmers who grow it. The tea in Rugabano, Rwanda, and the people who grow it, blew them away. So they started SPILL - an everyday tea that totally hits the spot. And pays farmers more.
